What's in the name?
AWRA comes from awrah, the Arabic term for the parts of the body that a man and a woman are meant to keep covered in Islam. It's a word rooted in dignity, privacy, and self-respect, and it's the foundation of everything we make.
But AWRA carries a second meaning too. Read it again and you'll see aura: the energy, presence, and light that surrounds a person. We think the two ideas belong together. When you keep yourself covered, you're not hiding. You're choosing what you put forward. Your character, your confidence, and your presence do the talking.
Why we started
We started AWRA because modest clothing shouldn't feel like a compromise. Too often, modest options are either overly complicated, unflattering, or simply not something people are excited to wear. We wanted to build the opposite: clothing that is modest, minimalist, and something you'd genuinely want to put on every day.
